About us
Purpose of the journey are different. Shopping, food, and lifestyle, culture, climate, history and so on. One of the purposes is also to happen to see the real face of the destination. Sakura, where our guesthouse is located, is found in an old castle town of Edo era, which is famous for that it has produced many councilors of Shoguns.
Sakura is on the way to the Tokyo from Narita Airport, there are JR and Keisei Line stations. The guesthouse has parking lot of 4 cars so that driving quickly to your destinations from our guesthouse in Sakura is a piece of good idea.
The one and only national museum of comprehensive Japanese history is in ancient Sakura castle site. The prehistoric-and-ancient era exhibition room that reopened in March this year attracts big attention of visitors. “Prehistoric and Ancient” era is the history of creation of Japan.
In Sakura area or “Shimofusa” during “Jomon” era around 2500 years ago, blessed with a mild climate, people could easily acquire food of the seasons. Shimofusa was one of the most densely populated area in Japanese archipelago. In addition, in the subsequent era, the old Katori sea (Inbanuma is its trace) around Shimousa, with Tone River water transportation, formed a vast and rich region of Togoku(Eastern nations), from the birth of Kamakura shogunate (about 830 years ago) to subsequent regimes by samurais. After the embarkment of Edo shogunate in Edo (currently Tokyo) about four centuries ago, Tokugawa shoguns had developed water transportation on the Tone river with numerous projects of flood control and utilization of water. Edo grew up as one of the biggest and most populated cities in the world.
Sakura (castle town) , Narita (temple town), Sahara (merchant city) and Choshi (port and fishery city) were linked to each other and have developed eastward together by the water transportation on the Tone River. You can enjoy the old Edo town and the landscape of the era, which is difficult to find in Tokyo today, in these cities.
The guesthouse “MORE & MORE” opened in such a place of Sakura. To make your deeper experience possible, we hope you to relax yourself in a house of modern Japanese lifestyle, enjoy talks with other guest in the shared living room and access information of your travel destinations.
